Joanne (Pei-Ying, Yang): 0609-10 Rotary Club meetings in P.E.I.

三個月過去了，學校的課程也結束了，照理說文化大使的任務應該已經結束了，但我自己決定留下來二個月，決定好好體驗一個在海外漂泊的樂趣。

告別了Homestay，我的自助旅行第一站，就是前往清秀佳人(Anne of Green Gables)作者蒙哥馬利的故鄉(Prince Edward Island)愛德華王子島，再來之前就想說要不要試著去參加這裡扶輪社的例會，後來想了想，還是決定寫Email問候，沒想到也得到了回覆，待在這裡四天的時間，我參加了二場扶輪社的例會。

例會地點：Fox Meadows Golf Club in Stratford (in Summer)

愛德華王子島是個很漂亮的地方，我開著租來的車，自己看著地圖找到了例會地點，這裡是個很漂亮綠油油的高爾夫俱樂部，我是第一位到達例會的人，所以我只好到處走走拍拍照。

Rotary Club of Stratford感覺是個小型的扶輪社，與會的社友大約只有10個人，今天沒有主講人只有大家一起吃飯聊聊天討論一下社裡面的事。

最後，我和社長Stewart交換了社旗，並且送給每位社友一個中國結，告訴他們可以把中國結別在喜歡的地方，不僅美觀還可以帶來好運喔！

隔了不久，我收到了社長Stewart寄給我的Email

It was very nice to meet you last night and we enjoyed your company, and I wanted to thank you for the good luck charms. I hope that the rest of your stay in PEI and Canada is a good one and that you enjoy the Rotary Convention in Montreal (I promise that you will find Montreal to be a very lively city).

隔天，上午開著車自己在島上參觀，晚上便參加了另外一個扶輪社的例會。

例會時間：每週四中午12:15
例會地點：Rodds Royalty Inn & Suites

又該說我幸運嗎？因為這次他們的例會恰巧是一年一度的品嘗龍蝦例會，所以他們把中午的例會取消改到晚上，看到有龍蝦當然一定要參加呀，PEI的龍蝦可是有名的好吃呀!!!

thank you for your e mail. It would be great to have you attend our meeting on the 10th. However, our regular meeting is cancelled that day, as we are having our annual lobster & bbq that evening for members and partners. President Sue has been unable to return your e mail as her mother died this week and was attending to family matters...

hi again.... we actually do not have a meeting on the 10th.. It is a social gathering with no formal meeting part at all. There will be about 50+ Rotarians and partners there.
We do welcome visitors though, and the cost is $20 pp for the lobster dinner... We do all the catering ourselves. if you wish to attend, please confirm. You will have to bring your own beverage as we have no bar service - soft drink, juice, wine, beer or whatever. We will have water...We have been having this event for many years now....

龍蝦真的是很大很大，是吃冰的不是熱的~
