0417 District Assembly in Sarnia

講習會是每年必辦的活動，當然這裡也不例外，國際扶輪6330地區橫跨二個國家，分別是美國的密西根州跟加拿大的安大略省，為了大家參與活動的方便，例會地點每年都固定在地理位置中間的加拿大Sarnia城市，讓不論從哪裡來的，交通路程都不至於太遠。
講習會的地點是在Sarnia的一間學校Lambton College。

今天的天氣依舊很冷，我還是要起個大早趕車程到Sarnia參加講習會，今天還有一個很重要的行程，那就是我要上台做報告，雖然只是個小型的個別座談會，但這可是我的第一場英文演講啊！我要跟現場都講英文的外國人用英文介紹台灣，哇塞~想到我就皮皮挫，而且由原本的5分鐘增加到了15分鐘，但~這可是一個很難得的經驗而且是獎學金主委Barb幫我爭取來的喔！我一定會好好完成的，前二天我還有在家先跟我的homestay練習，他們都說我講的很不錯！這可是讓我信心大增了呢！

I spoke with the District Assembly captain/ past district governor Pat Vogelin about having you attend this year's training session for 2010-11 club executive. He also thinks that would be great. You will be given 5 minutes to speak to the group assembled. Will let you know the AGENDA, when I receive a copy.
David, will you or another member of London-Lambeth be attending the Assembly? If so, it would be great if Joanne could travel with you. Otherwise, I will make arrangements for her to go with me. Thanks.

Hi Joanne,
Are you still able to attend District Assembly in Sarnia with David next Saturday? I know that I previously mentioned making a 5 minute presentation, but district trainer Pat Voegelin has set aside a 50 minute "Break Out" session available to do a scholarship presentation before lunch from 11:10-12:00. This would be a good opportunity for you to try your formal presentation to a Rotary group.  You could prepare  a 15 minute presentation to give to the small group, with 5 minutes to answer any questions they may have for you. I have copied a "Sample Presentation Outline" in case you do not have a copy. Please let me know if you need a computer projector, as I will have to arrange to bring one from my Rotary club.

Hi Joanne,
I have my club's computer projector for you to use tomorrow. Considering your vocation, I doubt there will be a problem for you. What kind of laptop will you be bringing? Our club's VGA computer projector requires an adaptor for Mac laptops and there are about 6 different adaptors.  REGISTRATION is at 9:00 AM. I will look for you and London-Lambeth Rotarians when I arrive.
Joanne, we are scheduled to do BREAKOUT SESSION #2 in room A223 from 11:10 AM until 12:00 Noon. We should set up during the break at 10:50 . My plan is to talk about the 2011-12 scholarship program for 10-15 minutes, answer questions and then introduce you and let you make your presentation.I believe I suggested aiming for 15 minutes with 5 minutes for questions.  We really do not have to fill the entire 50 minutes. I am sure that many would appreciate being able to visit the washroom before lunch at 12:00.

6330地區的講習會只有一天的時間，時間約從中午開始，直到下午約五點左右，前半場是個開幕式，有總監當選人及主辦人的致詞；中間還有二場的小型座談會，你可以選擇想要聽的主題參加，我的Presentation就是在這段時間報告；最後的後半場又把大家集合起來，有各個地區主委的報告，也有扶青團、扶少團的簡報，最後獎學金主委Barb也有上台報告，他很認真的自己製作了看板帶去現場，並且報告中還特別介紹了我，跟大家說明因為扶輪基金會把文化大使獎學金取消了，而我是他們接待的最後一位文化大使獎學生。
